Job Title: Ruby on Rails (RoR) Developer

About the Role:

We are looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer with 3+ years of hands-on experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in RoR development, a solid understanding of ActiveRecord and ORM, and the ability to review and enhance existing codebases.

You’ll be working on mature projects, analyzing legacy code, implementing scalable solutions, and contributing to continuous improvement. If you're passionate about writing clean code, problem-solving, and understanding the "why" behind every gem—this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze, review, and enhance existing Ruby on Rails applications
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Ruby code using best practices and RoR conventions
• Apply knowledge of ActiveRecord, ORM, and Rails gems to deliver scalable features
• Perform code reviews, identify potential improvements, and debug efficiently
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, QA, product)
• Implement and understand RoR concepts like Convention over Configuration (CoC) and scaffolding
• Contribute to discussions on architecture, performance, and process improvement

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in Ruby on Rails development
• Strong grasp of ActiveRecord, ORM concepts, and when to use specific gems
• Experience working on pre-existing/legacy RoR codebases
• Ability to perform thorough code reviews and root cause analysis
• Familiar with RoR fundamentals including CoC, scaffolding, MVC architecture
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party integrations
• Good problem-solving skills and debugging expertise
• Experience with Git, version control, and collaborative workflows

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Stimulus/Hotwire)
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, or similar tools
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Testing frameworks like RSpec or Minitest
