Production Engineer

Role: Production Engineer

Objective:

To ensure smooth and efficient production operations on a day-to-day basis by planning, executing, and monitoring all production activities, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring timely dispatches through effective coordination with internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks (RRT):

Daily Production Operations

·        Supervise and monitor shop floor activities to ensure daily production targets are met.

·        Allocate manpower and machine resources efficiently.

·        Troubleshoot production issues and take corrective action to minimize downtime.

·        Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

·        Maintain records of production,.

Production Planning

·        Develop weekly and monthly production plans based on sales forecasts, dispatch schedules, and raw material availability.

·        Optimize production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders.

·        Coordinate with stores for availability of raw materials and consumables.

Dispatch Planning

·        Plan and monitor monthly dispatch schedules in alignment with the sales team and customer commitments.

·        Coordinate with the dispatch/logistics team to ensure timely and accurate shipment of finished goods.

·        Ensure proper packaging and documentation for dispatch.

Coordination with Sales & Marketing

·        Regularly communicate with the sales team to understand priority orders and delivery deadlines.

·        Update the sales team with production status, delays, or bottlenecks, if any.

Vendor Coordination

·        Liaise with external vendors for timely supply of bought-out components, raw materials, and subcontracted jobs.

·        Monitor vendor performance on quality and delivery timelines.

Quality & Standards

·        Implement and monitor quality checks at various stages of production.

·        Ensure adherence to industry standards and safety protocols.

Reporting & Documentation

·        Prepare and submit daily/weekly production reports to management.

·        Maintain records related to production efficiency, quality rejections, material usage, and manpower deployment.

·        Support internal/external audits with necessary data and documentation

Team Management & Training

·        Supervise production staff and ensure discipline, safety, and morale on the shop

Floor.

·        Identify skill gaps and arrange training for operators and technicians.

·        Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Qualification: Diploma or Graduate Engineer in Mechanical or Production Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a production environment.

Preferred Industry Exposure: Experience in sheet metal fabrication and assembly shop will be a strong advantage.
