Job Description

L3 Technician Responsibilities:

  • Deep-dive troubleshooting of MPLS (LDP, RSVP-TE), VPLS, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, and IPTV multicast/unicast issues.
  • Handle escalated incidents and high-impact outages including backbone failures, BGP flaps, IPTV unicast/multicast delivery issues.
  • Handle escalated incidents for MPLS/VPLS (L2/L3 VPN) related issues.
  • Configure and troubleshoot PE/CE routers, BRAS/BNG, and core aggregation switches.
  • Perform traffic engineering, route leak analysis, and protocol optimization.
  • Manage provisioning and testing of new leased lines and IPTV channels.
  • Liaise with upstream providers and NLD/transit vendors.
  • Perform firmware upgrades, network migrations, and backbone changes.
  • Create and review low-level design (LLD) documents and MOPs.
  • Mentor L2 engineers and conduct knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Maintain SLA and KPI, KRA

Technical Skills & Experience

  • MPLS (LDP, RSVP, TE):Strong understanding
  • VPLS/L2VPN:Strong hands-on
  • OSPF, BGP:Advanced troubleshooting
  • IPTV (Multicast, IGMP, QoS):Deep debugging
  • GPON/OLT/ONT:Advanced config (optional)
  • BRAS/BNG:Config and auth debugging
  • Packet capture tools (Wireshark, tcpdump):Required
  • Routers/Switches :Full config/debug
  • NMS/EMS tools:Same
  • Ticketing systems:Same
  • Linux/CLI scripting:Bash/Python preferred

Qualifications

L3:

  • 5+ years in NOC/Core Networking (ISP environment)
  • CCNP / JNCIP / HCIP or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience in MPLS/VPLS/IPTV
  • Good documentation and RCA writing skills

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication (written and verbal)
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Ability to work under pressure in 24x7 shifts
  • Team player with mentoring ability (L3)
  • Ownership mindset and customer focus

Shift Schedule

  • 24x7 rotational shifts (including night/weekend shifts)
  • On-call duty during critical events (for L3)

Reporting and Escalation

  • L2 reports to NOC Supervisor / L3 team
  • L3 reports to NOC Manager / Network Design team
  • Responsible for RCA documentation and change approvals

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹420,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
