Maintenance Engineer

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – Welding & Casting Equipment Department: Maintenance / Production Engineering Job Purpose: To ensure the smooth functioning and high availability of welding and casting equipment through effective preventive and breakdown maintenance. The role demands hands-on experience with manual and robotic welding systems, electro-pneumatic welding fixtures, and associated equipment. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance of Welding Equipment: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manual and robotic welding guns, including spot welding guns. Troubleshoot and repair welding machines, ensuring minimum downtime. Fixture Maintenance: Maintain and repair electro-pneumatic welding fixtures to ensure operational efficiency and dimensional accuracy. Diagnose fixture failures and implement corrective actions promptly. Robotics Maintenance: Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on robotic welding systems including end-effectors, cables, and controllers. Address concerns related to robot periphery, wiring, sensors, and actuator failures. Casting Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance of casting machines and associated systems, ensuring process reliability and quality output. Equipment Health Monitoring: Monitor the performance of welding and casting equipment and perform predictive maintenance where applicable. Maintain maintenance logs and generate reports on equipment health. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards and ensure equipment is maintained in compliance with workplace safety regulations. Support safety audits and implement corrective measures as needed. Inventory & Spare Management: Manage critical spare parts for welding and casting equipment to ensure availability during maintenance activities. Qualifications: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline. Experience:5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in the maintenance of welding and casting equipment in the automotive, manufacturing, or heavy engineering industries. Technical Skills: Expertise in maintenance of: Manual and robotic spot welding guns. Electro-pneumatic welding fixtures. Casting machines and related equipment. Basic understanding of PLC, robot programming (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA – preferred). Troubleshooting of robotic systems and peripheral devices. Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems associated with welding fixtures. Behavioral Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
