About the Role

We are looking for a Lead – Hostel Experience to take full ownership of the student hostel environment. This role demands operational agility, a student-first mindset, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders. With 5–6 years of experience in operations, vendor management, and student engagement, the ideal candidate will ensure a safe, supportive, and enriching hostel experience that enhances student life beyond the classroom.


Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Hostel Operations

  • Manage all day-to-day aspects of hostel functioning, from facility upkeep to resident satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to cleanliness, maintenance, and safety standards across all student living spaces.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for efficient hostel management.

2. Vendor & SLA Oversight

  • Manage and coordinate with all third-party service providers, including housekeeping, maintenance, security, and transport vendors.
  • Define and monitor service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Drive accountability through regular reviews and performance tracking.

3. Student Support & Experience

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for student queries, concerns, and emergencies.
  • Actively collect real-time feedback and work toward timely resolution of issues to improve the living experience.
  • Build a positive, inclusive, and supportive hostel culture.

4. Stakeholder & Owner Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with property owners and other stakeholders to ensure smooth hostel operations.
  • Provide regular updates, reports, and issue resolutions to ownership and internal leadership teams.

5. Facility Audits & Reporting

  • Conduct structured weekly and monthly inspections to ensure hostel infrastructure and amenities are in optimal condition.
  • Maintain reports and records of incidents, maintenance activities, and student interactions.

6. Shuttle & Transport Coordination

  • Oversee student shuttle services, including daily scheduling, vendor coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure transport services meet safety, punctuality, and capacity requirements.

7. Community Building & Events

  • Organize student engagement activities, including welcome events, networking sessions, and cultural celebrations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to host relevant academic or professional events within the hostel premises.


Requirements

  • Operationally Strong & Resourceful: Able to handle challenges on the ground with quick thinking and initiative.
  • Vendor Management Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple vendors and enforce service-level agreements effectively.
  • Student-Focused: Warm, approachable, and capable of building strong relationships with students while maintaining boundaries.
  • Feedback & Conflict Resolution: Skilled in gathering real-time feedback and resolving issues calmly and constructively.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication for engaging with students, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Event Management: Experience in planning and executing student-led events and engagement initiatives.
  • Organized & Tech-Savvy: Proficient in MS Office/Google Workspace and property or hostel management tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Facility Management, or related field.
  • 5–6 years of experience in hostel/co-living operations, hospitality, or campus-based roles.
  • Prior exposure to student housing or educational institutions is preferred.
