Role Overview

Data Science Engineer

This freelance role is ideal for professionals who bring both statistical rigor and software engineering depth to real-world problems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy machine learning models for real-time and batch applications
  • Process and analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights
  • Develop data pipelines and model workflows in production environments
  • Work with product teams to frame data science solutions for business use cases
  • Monitor model performance, retraining, and drift over time
  • Communicate findings through clear visualizations, documentation, and reports


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in data science, machine learning, or applied analytics
  • Strong background in statistics, data structures, and algorithms
  • Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch)
  • Experience building end-to-end ML workflows, from exploration to deployment
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and MLOps practices
  • Ability to work independently and translate ambiguous problems into scalable solutions


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with tools like Airflow, MLflow, or Kubeflow
  • Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Exposure to big data tools (Spark, Hadoop, Dask)
  • Knowledge of model versioning, monitoring, and explainability techniques
  • Experience in domains like NLP, computer vision, or time series analysis is a plus
