Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced

MS-SQL Sybase Database Administrator

with 10–15 years of hands-on expertise in managing, automating, and optimizing database platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in MSSQL administration, database automation, performance tuning, and scripting. You will collaborate closely with global teams to support enterprise-level database operations hosted in private cloud environments.

This project is scheduled for one year that is extendible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engineer and automate deployment and maintenance of various database platforms and services.
  • Participate in rationalizing the usage and technology stack for databases across the enterprise.
  • Assist in creating and implementing operational policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Provide database administration and production support across private cloud regions.
  • Perform database version upgrades and apply regular security patches.
  • Administer and troubleshoot database replication setups.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to deliver efficient database solutions.
  • Provide scheduled support during weekends or non-business hours as part of a global support rotation.
  • Stay updated and adaptable to emerging technologies and methodologies.

Mandatory Skills:
  • 10+ years of experience in MSSQL database administration.
  • Strong command-line proficiency and hands-on experience with Linux operating systems.
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with MSSQL Always On Availability Groups.
  • Scripting experience in Python and automation exposure using Ansible.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure in a high-demand environment.
  • A proactive, engineering mindset with a strong problem-solving attitude.
  • Quick learner with adaptability for both technical and semi-technical work.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
  • Experience or familiarity with MySQL and Oracle databases.
  • Exposure to infrastructure automation and DevOps principles.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Grafana, Loki, or Splunk.
