Selected Intern's Day-to-day Responsibilities Include
- Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement sales strategies: Create comprehensive sales plans to achieve revenue targets, expand market presence, and attract new customers.
- Identify new business opportunities: Proactively seek out and pursue opportunities for growth, such as catering events, corporate partnerships, or local community collaborations.
- Analyze sales data and trends: Monitor sales performance, identify popular menu items or peak times, and use this data to inform sales strategies and promotions.
- Set and monitor sales targets: Establish clear sales goals for the restaurant and individual staff members, and track progress towards these targets.
- Business Development & Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain client relationships: Build strong relationships with existing customers and potential new clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Negotiate and close deals: Participate in high-level negotiations for larger contracts (e.g., catering events) and support the team in closing strategic deals.
- Market expansion: Explore opportunities to expand the restaurant's reach, whether through new locations, delivery partnerships, or other channels.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders: Build and maintain strong relationships with all parties involved in the restaurant's operations.
- Marketing and Promotions:
- Organize marketing activities: Plan and execute promotional events, discount schemes, and other marketing initiatives to attract customers and boost sales.
- Maximize brand awareness: Promote the restaurant's brand through various channels and ensure a consistent and positive brand image.
- Develop and activate marketing plans: Work closely with marketing teams (if applicable) to create and implement effective marketing campaigns.
- Financial Management & Profitability:
- Analyze and plan restaurant sales levels and profitability: Understand the financial performance of the restaurant and develop plans to improve profitability.
- Set and manage budgets: Create and manage sales budgets, allocating resources efficiently to maximize return on investment.
- Assess and improve profitability: Identify areas to reduce costs (e.g., food waste, labor costs) and implement strategies to increase profit margins.
- Track expenses and monitor costs: Keep detailed records of expenses and monitor budgets to ensure financial health.
- Team Leadership & Development (if managing a sales team):
- Recruit, train, and motivate staff: Hire, onboard, and provide ongoing training and coaching to a high-performing sales team.
- Oversee sales team metrics: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team and provide feedback and support to ensure goals are met.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning: Encourage professional development and provide opportunities for the sales team to enhance their skills.
- Operational Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments: Work closely with the kitchen, front-of-house, and other teams to ensure a smooth flow of operations that supports sales efforts.
- Provide market intelligence feedback: Share insights on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs with relevant teams to inform strategic decisions.
- Contribute to menu development: Provide input on menu planning based on sales data and customer preferences to enhance offerings and drive sales.
