Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic

Branch Manager

to lead our retail banking operations. As the face of the branch, you will drive business growth, ensure operational excellence, and deliver exceptional customer service. The role requires strong leadership, revenue ownership, client acquisition, team management, and compliance oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Revenue Management

  • Manage the branch as a profit center by driving revenue growth across liability products, third-party products (TPP), and retail assets.
  • Achieve individual and branch-level sales targets through new client acquisition, cross-selling, and portfolio deepening.
  • Maintain and monitor the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) across product lines (CASA, FD, loans, fee income).
  • Track and optimize Net Interest Income (NII), fee income, and operational expenses (OPEX).

Client Relationship & Sales

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high-value clients and local business communities.
  • Lead customer onboarding, account activation, and cross-selling of products such as mutual funds, insurance, and gold loans.
  • Monitor customer service delivery to ensure minimal wait times and high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores.
  • Proactively address and resolve customer complaints to avoid escalations.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Relationship Managers, Sales Officers, and Branch Service Managers.
  • Conduct daily huddles, monthly performance reviews, and training workshops to align team goals and enhance productivity.
  • Guide new joiners and ensure structured feedback and performance appraisals for all branch staff.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure branch compliance with RBI regulations, internal policies, and audit guidelines.
  • Maintain high audit scores and ensure complete adherence to risk controls, KYC norms, and operational processes.
  • Monitor daily sales reports (DSRs), account closures, FD renewals, and other key business metrics.
  • Manage and update leads and client activities through the CRM system.

Branch Infrastructure & Brand Administration

  • Maintain branch ambiance and infrastructure as per 5S standards.
  • Ensure availability of resources and a customer-friendly layout to reflect brand standards.

Key Deliverables

  • Growth in CASA balances, fixed deposits, and retail lending portfolio
  • Increased fee income from TPP (mutual funds, insurance, gold loans)
  • High Customer Service Index (CSI) and low complaint/escalation ratio
  • Effective cost control and OPEX optimization

Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience as a Branch Manager or in a similar leadership role in Retail Banking
  • Proven track record in sales, client acquisition, portfolio management, and team handling
  • Strong understanding of banking products and services, especially current accounts and retail assets
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, audit processes, and risk management in a retail banking setup
