Responsibilities

• Monitoring and Analysis: Assist in the real-time monitoring of security events and alerts using SIEM tools. Analyse logs and data to detect and investigate potential threats.
• Incident Response: Support the SOC team in responding to security incidents. Help gather and analyze evidence, document incident details, and escalate issues as needed.
• Threat Intelligence: Contribute to threat intelligence efforts by researching emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques. Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends.
• Documentation: Assist in creating and maintaining incident response procedures, security documentation, and knowledge base entries.
• Reporting: Aid in generating and reviewing security reports, summarizing incident activities, system vulnerabilities, and other relevant security metrics.
• Collaboration: Work closely with SOC team members to ensure effective communication and coordination during security incidents and routine security operations.
  

Expected Skills

• Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including network security, information security principles, and common attack vectors. Familiarity with SIEM tools and their functionalities is advantageous.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse and interpret security data, logs, and alerts to identify potential threats and anomalies.
• Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and antivirus solutions. Understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP) is beneficial.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively, especially under pressure during security incidents.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documenting and analyzing security incidents and maintaining security documentation.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with team members.
• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and departments to ensure effective incident handling and security operations.
• Learning Orientation: Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and methodologies in the cybersecurity field.
