Role Description

This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience with WordPress development. The selected candidate will play a key role in translating designs into scalable, user-friendly websites for global audiences. The role is front-end focused but offers opportunities to grow in back-end development and cross-functional collaboration as well.

What You'll Do

• Assist in building and maintaining custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement responsive and accessible designs based on Figma mockups
• Optimize performance, SEO, and accessibility across various WordPress builds
• Leverage modern development workflows using Git and local development environments
• Debug, troubleshoot, and enhance existing WordPress websites
• Contribute to technical discussions and process improvements
• Work cross-functionally with designers, marketers, and content teams to deliver high-quality UI/UX
• Maintain documentation and adhere to version control and coding best practices
• Be open to learning and contributing to areas beyond WordPress, if needed

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS (SCSS)
• Familiarity with building custom WordPress themes using ACF, CPTs, and Gutenberg
• Understanding of the WordPress loop and WP_Query
• Knowledge of core web fundamentals: HTTP, DNS, caching, SSL, web servers
• Awareness of performance optimization techniques and Core Web Vitals
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Eagerness to learn and improve workflows and processes
