Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Utility Piping Design Engineer to join our

dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess strong design expertise in

various utility piping systems, including compressed air, chilled water, cooling water,

steam, and multiple water piping networks. This individual must demonstrate the ability to

design systems according to relevant national and international codes, check drawings

before submission to clients, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:

1) Design, layout, and prepare detailed engineering drawings and P&IDs for utility

piping systems:

o Compressed Air System and Piping

o Chiller Units and Chiller Piping

o Cooling Water System and Piping

o Steam Piping Networks

o Water Networks: RO, Drinking, Garden, Raw, and Flushing

2) Conduct equipment sizing and selection based on project specifications and utility

requirements.

3) Perform technical calculations, flow rate estimation, pressure drops, and system

balancing.

4) Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g., IS, ASME, ANSI,

API, and other relevant piping standards).

5) Review and verify detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and documentation

before submission to the client.

6) Coordinate with drafting team and vendors to ensure accuracy and feasibility of

design packages.

7) Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions to present

and justify design decisions.

8) Assist procurement and site execution teams with technical queries and vendor

document reviews.


Qualifications & Skills:

1) Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

2) Proven experience (3-7 years) in utility piping system design in industrial,

commercial, or infrastructure projects.

3) Strong knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., IS, ASME

B31.3/B31.1, API, ISO).

4) Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other piping design software; familiarity with

Revit, Navisworks, and Plant 3D is a plus.

5) Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

6) Strong communication and teamwork abilities.


Preferred Certifications:

Certification in piping design or utility system design (desirable but not mandatory).
