Job Summary As a Senior Mechanical Engineer – NPD , you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to convert innovative concepts into production-ready solutions. Responsibilities Lead mechanical product design from concept to completion, including validation and testing. Independently perform end to end mechanical product design and development including product conceptualization, detailing, design validation & testing of electro mechanical components / products / systems. Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and complete mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks or Fusion 360 . Collaborate with customers and vendors to perform DFMA , tolerance stack-up analysis, and prototype testing. Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers for complete product integration. Work with vendors and customers to finalize component specifications and validate manufacturability. Conduct and review DFMEA , structural and thermal analysis reports. Guide and mentor junior engineers in the design process. Coordinate with manufacturing and QA teams to ensure production-readiness while adhering to quality, safety, and cost standards. Operate efficiently in a fast-paced and iterative development environment. Skills required Proficiency in SolidWorks / Fusion 360 Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes 5+ years’ experience in new product development (NPD) , design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) Familiarity with FMEA , reliability engineering, and validation techniques Critical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail Proactive attitude with ability to work independently or lead teams Desired candidate profile: 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in mechanical design and development Exposure to defence , electromechanical systems , or startup/SME environments is a strong advantage Strong communication, leadership, collaboration skills Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Validate each mould before handover to the production team. Lead mould commissioning at plant level. Prepare and share process data and related documents with respective plants. Drive engineering aspects of NPD (New Product Development) from concept to final production. Coordinate with mould design teams to ensure feasibility and technical alignment. Identify opportunities to improve mould designs and development procedures. Competencies / Skills Hands-on experience in operating injection moulding machines. Mold flow analysis – interpretation and issue resolution. Ability to estimate cycle time, moulding machine tonnage, etc. DFM (Design for Manufacturing) studies for part and tool feasibility. Knowledge of material properties relevant to injection moulding. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in mould development and process engineering. Should have experience in: Leading mould trials and establishing moulding processes for home appliance products. Coordinating with mould makers in Delhi and co-makers in Baddi/Haridwar for validation and commissioning.
