Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple Java backend teams through their team leads, ensuring alignment with product and engineering goals.
- Drive team performance, talent development, and operational excellence across all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, QA, Support, and Customer Success to prioritize and deliver high-quality product increments.
- Set clear goals, ensure timely execution, and monitor KPIs to maintain focus and accountability.
- Oversee capacity planning, hiring, and organizational growth in alignment with business needs.
- Serve as an escalation point for technical challenges, cross-team dependencies, and customer-related issues.
Required Qualifications:
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized university.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with 3+ years in managing engineering managers or team leads.
- Proven success in managing multiple backend-focused teams in complex
product environments.
- Strong understanding of Java backend architecture, microservices, REST APIs, and enterprise application patterns.
- Experience managing distributed teams in Agile environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern CI/CD processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in cybersecurity or data infrastructure products.
- Exposure to front-end technologies, DevOps pipelines, and distributed systems.
- Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones.
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and enterprise compliance requirements.
