Job Summary:

The Senior Academic Head is responsible for leading the academic strategy and operations across all grades and departments. This role ensures the implementation of curriculum standards, pedagogical excellence, teacher development, and student performance tracking. The Senior Academic Head is a key driver of academic quality and innovation, working closely with Principals, Coordinators, and faculty to uphold the educational vision of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:1. Academic Leadership and Strategy

• Define and implement academic policies and procedures aligned with institutional goals.
• Design annual academic plans and ensure smooth curriculum delivery across all grades.
• Introduce innovative teaching methodologies and promote 21st-century learning practices.

2. Curriculum Planning and Implementation

• Oversee curriculum alignment with CBSE/State/International board standards.
• Supervise subject-wise lesson planning, time-tabling, and classroom execution.
• Ensure integration of life skills, values, and co-scholastic activities into academics.

3. Teacher Development and Evaluation

• Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
• Plan and execute internal/external training programs and workshops.
• Lead the teacher appraisal process and recommend performance-based actions.

4. Student Performance Monitoring

• Monitor student academic progress through assessments, result analysis, and remedial planning.
• Identify and address learning gaps through intervention strategies.
• Lead initiatives for student enrichment programs like Olympiads, debates, etc.

5. Coordination and Reporting

• Coordinate with school heads, coordinators, and management for policy implementation.
• Review and approve academic reports, parent communications, and examination planning.
• Submit monthly/quarterly reports on academic progress and challenges to the management.

6. Stakeholder Engagement

• Communicate effectively with parents through PTMs and academic updates.
• Address academic concerns raised by parents, students, and teachers.
• Represent the academic department in external audits, inspections, and accreditations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Postgraduate degree in Education or relevant field (M.Ed/B.Ed preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of teaching and 5+ years in academic leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum frameworks (CBSE/ICSE/IB/IGCSE).
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and analytical skills.
