Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring.
• Building a scalable, highly available, resilient, extendable, secure architecture to provide a significant boost to the business.
• Writing high-quality code to achieve business goals.
• Working with various cross-functional teams to understand their needs, offering them solutions, and setting and managing their expectations.
• Ensuring timely and high-quality delivery. We take code extremely seriously.
• Architect and develop scalable, high-performance, and secure solutions that align with business goals.
• Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Led and mentored junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, translating business requirements into efficient technical solutions.
• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery, conduct thorough code reviews, and enforce development best practices.
• Advocate and implement best software development practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and code optimization.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance system performance, security, and scalability.
• Optimize engineering processes, simplifying testing, accelerating development, and improving deployment efficiency.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies, quickly adapting to new frameworks, languages, and tools.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring long-term maintainability and extensibility of systems.
• Effectively manage development in a fast-scaling and dynamic environment, handling multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Proactively identify and resolve complex technical challenges, ensuring system reliability and resilience.
• Ability to think ahead and suggest/improve existing processes like simplifying Testing, faster development, easier deployment, etc.
• Ability to learn new frameworks and languages in a short period.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in backend development, with a focus on Java.
• Proficiency in Java programming and the Spring Framework.
• Experience with RESTful services, SQL databases, and microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of version control systems like Git.
• Experience with unit testing and test-driven development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
