Senior Backend Developer

What You’ll Do

• Take full ownership of backend features and services—from design to deployment and beyond.
• Architect scalable APIs using Node.js, and collaborate closely with frontend developers using React and Tailwind CSS.
• Model and manage data efficiently using PostgreSQL, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Build robust integrations with third-party services, cloud functions, and internal tools.
• Debug, profile, and optimize backend performance—be the go-to for backend decisions.
• Write clean, maintainable code and follow best practices for testing, deployment, and security.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural planning.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues across the stack.
• Work with product managers and UI/UX designers to deliver robust features aligned with business goals.

• Contribute to product discussions, roadmap planning, and help shape the technical direction of the company.

You Should Have

• 3+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong grip on Node.js and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with React and Tailwind CSS—you don’t need to build the UI, but you should understand how it works.
• Solid understanding of REST/GraphQL APIs, data modeling, and system design.
• Experience working in lean teams, preferably in a startup or product-led environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-first mindset.
• Comfortable wearing multiple hats and working cross-functionally.
• Experience with containerization tools (Docker, etc.)
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Heroku).
• Familiarity with ORMs like Prisma or Sequelize.
• Knowledge of microservices or event-driven architecture.

Bonus if You Have

• Experience with ORMs like Prisma or Sequelize.
• Exposure to cloud services (e.g. AWS, Supabase, Railway, Render) or CI/CD pipelines.
• Worked on 0-to-1 products or MVPs.
• Experience with writing tests (unit/integration) and monitoring tools.
