Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Manager

Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Location: Vadodara
Reporting to: Plant Head

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the Quality Control function, ensuring that CRGO steel products meet customer and regulatory requirements, while continuously improving quality systems, process standards, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Planning & Control
• Develop and implement quality control systems for CRGO steel manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards (e.g., IEC 60404, ASTM A876, ISO 9001).
• Monitor and control key process parameters to ensure consistent product quality.
• Inspection & Testing
• Oversee raw material, in-process, and final product inspection.
• Supervise mechanical, electrical, and magnetic property testing such as core loss, permeability, insulation resistance, etc.
• Lead investigations for non-conformance, analyze root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain detailed and accurate QC documentation, including test reports, control charts, and calibration logs.
• Prepare and present quality KPIs and reports to management.
• Team Leadership
• Lead, train, and mentor the QC team.
• Conduct performance reviews and skill gap assessments.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and R&D teams.
• Customer & Compliance
• Handle customer quality audits and technical inquiries.
• Liaise with certification bodies and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure traceability and lot-wise quality assurance.
• Process Improvement
• Drive continuous improvement through Six Sigma, Lean, or other quality improvement methodologies.
• Suggest and implement improvements in testing methods and inspection techniques.

Key Skills & Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of CRGO manufacturing and testing standards.
• Familiarity with lab instruments: Epstein Frame, Single Sheet Tester (SST), MFL (Magnetic Flux Loss), etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in quality tools like SPC, FMEA, 8D, CAPA, and ISO systems.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in Quality Control, with at least 5 years in CRGO or a similar electrical steel industry.
• Certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, ISO 14001) preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹85,000.00 per month
