Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced

Purchase Engineer

to manage and coordinate procurement activities efficiently. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining cost efficiency, while aligning with project and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.
Develop procurement strategies that align with organizational goals.
Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with vendors and suppliers.
Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) and requisitions.
Ensure materials and components meet technical and quality specifications.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse and production teams.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
Resolve supplier issues related to delivery delays, quality concerns, and discrepancies.
Collaborate with the engineering, quality control, and finance departments.
Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and market conditions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
2–4 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role (engineering or manufacturing environment preferred).
Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office.
Knowledge of supply chain procedures and procurement best practices.
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
