Learn more: www.goingtoschool.com Position Overview We are seeking a results-driven, mission-aligned Program Manager to lead Going to School’s start-up program in Pune, Maharashtra. This high-responsibility leadership role involves managing the daily implementation of our skills-based education program in government schools across the city. You will manage a team of trainers and field coordinators to deliver engaging classroom experiences six days a week (Monday to Saturday). You will be responsible for meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), cultivating relationships with Maharashtra’s education departments, school leaders, and community stakeholders, and ensuring program delivery is timely, inclusive, and gender-responsive. This role also includes writing original reports, analyzing field data, engaging with donors, and identifying new opportunities for fundraising and strategic partnerships across education, skills, and climate change. Hindi and/or Marathi fluency is essential, and you must be able to write clearly and insightfully in English. Key Responsibilities Program Implementation & Team Leadership Lead and manage a full-time field team to deliver daily classroom sessions in Pune’s government schools. Oversee training, scheduling, attendance, supervision, and ensure daily program quality. Monitor team performance and ensure fidelity to content delivery and KPIs. Government & Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain strong working relationships with Maharashtra state education officials, school leaders, and local authorities. Serve as the lead point of contact for partner schools and local program stakeholders. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Track program participation, learning outcomes, and daily implementation metrics. Write clear, original reports for internal teams, donors, and government partners. Use real-time field data to identify trends, challenges, and programmatic insights. Gender & Inclusion Ensure gender equity is embedded across all program components. Implement action steps based on gender audits and monitor inclusive participation. Fundraising & Partnerships Identify and explore new partnership opportunities across the education, climate, and skills sectors. Support the creation of proposals and concept notes aligned with Going to School’s mission. Collaborate with communications and fundraising teams to grow impact in the region. Volunteer & Event Coordination (Part of Role) Work with the volunteer engagement team to support events and school-based volunteering initiatives. Ensure volunteer activities are well-integrated into program delivery and aligned with objectives. Required Skills & Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in program/project management in education, skills, communications entrepreneurship, data, technology, Climate Change or M&E. Fluent in spoken Hindi and/or Marathi; excellent writing skills in English. Demonstrated ability to manage dispersed teams with daily tracking, accountability, and results. Experience working with government systems, especially in the education sector. Ability to write persuasively and insightfully—reports, briefs, concept notes, and success stories. Strong understanding of inclusive, gender-responsive programming. Proficiency in Google Workspace and project/data tracking tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a start-up, corporate, communications, education, or climate-related initiative. Prior exposure to fundraising, proposal development, or CSR partnerships in Maharashtra.
