Production Line Supervisor / Engineer

Job Title: Production Line Supervisor / Engineer – Efficiency & Quality Department: Manufacturing / Production Job Type: Full-Time Reporting To: Production Manager / Plant Head Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Line Supervisor / Engineer to oversee and improve the efficiency, quality, and reliability of our production lines. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining product quality, managing defects, and building a high-performance team through training and development initiatives. Major Roles & Responsibilities:1. Efficiency Optimization: Ensure full team attendance at the beginning of every shift and address any manpower gaps. Monitor and enhance line efficiency to eliminate stoppages and production delays. Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions to maximize throughput. Drive initiatives to eliminate productivity barriers and improve cycle times. 2. Quality Control: Maintain and improve Inline Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and Total Units Pass (TUP) ratios. Involve shop floor teams in continuous quality improvement initiatives. Analyze defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Ensure quality checks are standardized and rigorously followed. 3. Defect Management (OS&D):Track all rejected items and maintain detailed records. Conduct thorough investigations into rejections and implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions). Strive to reduce line-side defects and part rejections. 4. Training and Skill Development: Organize periodic training programs for operators on quality, safety, and efficiency. Support multiskilling and contingency planning to ensure operational flexibility. Mentor and onboard new employees to meet process and product quality standards. Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Required Qualifications & Skills: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering 3–6 years of experience in manufacturing or production supervision Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, quality tools (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.), and shop floor management Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive productivity improvements Hands-on experience in using productivity tracking and defect analysis tools Strong communication, team management, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to TPM, 5S, Six Sigma or Kaizen methodologies Experience in the automotive or discrete manufacturing sector Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) Why Join Us?
