Job Description

Job Title: Manager Procurement - Raw Materials

The Manager Procurement of Raw Materials is responsible for overseeing the acquisition of raw materials essential for the production processes of the company. This role involves developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining the quality and timely delivery of raw materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the raw materials market.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement to Pay Management

  • Review Purchase Requisitions and float RFQ as per plan received from planning team
  • Prepare comparative quote sheets, negotiate best prices and issue PO to L1 as per approval of AVP & VP Procurement
  • Follow Procurement SOP
  • Ensure timely delivery of material (OTIF), diligence in follow-ups with suppliers, ensure timely payments, vendor reconciliations etc.

Procurement Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Analyze market trends and identify potential risks and opportunities in the raw materials market.

Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favourable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.

Cost Management:

  • Manage the procurement budget for raw materials and ensure compliance with financial targets.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all raw materials procured meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Inventory Management:

  • Work closely with the Inventory Management team to ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize wastage and reduce excess stock.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop mitigation strategies.

Collaboration

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the procurement team.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on raw materials.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and build strong partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools. SAP knowledge is a must.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience in the Pesticide industry is preferred
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to raw materials procurement.
