Job Description

Job Title: MS SQL DBA

Location: Chennai

Experiences: 6+ Years

Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MS SQL Database Administrator to manage and maintain our SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of databases, as well as supporting development and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases (2016/2019/2022).
Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions.
Perform regular database backups and recovery operations.
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues such as deadlocks, long-running queries, and data corruption.
Implement and maintain disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Always On, Log Shipping, Replication).
Optimize queries and indexes for maximum performance.
Support developers with SQL tuning and best practices.
Automate regular DBA tasks using PowerShell or SQL scripts.
Manage database access and implement data security policies.
Perform capacity planning and usage forecasting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

4+ years of experience as an MS SQL DBA.
Strong expertise in SQL Server architecture, administration, and tuning.
Experience with SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options.
Solid knowledge of T-SQL and stored procedures.
Familiarity with Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
Experience in performance tuning and optimization (PTO).
Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and monitoring tools like Redgate, SolarWinds, or SQL Sentry.
Experience with automation/scripting using PowerShell.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and documentation skills.
