Job Title : Modbus Protocol Test Engineer Location : Pune Experience : 6 to 12 Years Employment Type : Full-Time | On-site/Hybrid Job Overview We are hiring a Protocol Test Engineer with strong expertise in Modbus communication protocol. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of embedded systems, field devices, and industrial automation protocols like Modbus RTU/TCP, with hands-on experience in validation and field simulation testing. Key Responsibilities Validate Modbus communication between master-slave devices Perform packet-level analysis and log decoding Use tools like Modbus Poll, ModScan, pymodbus, or in-house simulators Write test cases, simulate device behaviors, and perform regression tests Interface with hardware and firmware teams for integration issues Document protocol compliance, errors, and traceability logs Requirements 6 to 12 years of experience in embedded or protocol testing Strong understanding of Modbus RTU, TCP/IP Experience using protocol analyzers, test benches, or writing custom Python test scripts Knowledge of registers, coils, bits, and data integrity validation Good grasp of RS-485, TCP/IP stacks, and industrial automation flows Preferred Familiarity with CAN, BACnet, or other industrial protocols Experience testing PLC, SCADA, or IoT Gateways Basic knowledge of Python or C scripting for test automation Mobus Testing : (likely Modbus : Protocol Testing for Industrial : Embedded systems, industrial automation, PLCs, IoT (ref:hirist.tech) Show more Show less
