Position Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer will select equipment & auxiliaries required for pump packages, including sub-assemblies to support the Sundyne product lines. The Mechanical Engineer will be supporting multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
Key
Responsibilities
:
- Management of the assigned mechanical design projects from Sales order review stage to handover to production.
- Undertake responsibility for project related design, processing and supporting activities for the assigned product range.
- Review of the customer project design specifications, communication with Sales/Tendering team to transform the customer requirements into product through order related engineering.
- Preparation and review of the customer facing documents such as Pump Cross Section drawings, Pump General Arrangement drawings, P&ID drawings, Wiring diagram etc. in 2D or 3D.
- Review and approval of buyout component drawings & documents related to Motor, Coupling, Mechanical Seal & Systems, Control & Safety Valves, Gear box, Heat Exchanger, noise attenuation etc.
- Review of the Instruments requirement & co-ordination with Instrumentation team.
- Preparation, check & release of the Bill of Material (BOM) in ERP.
- Communicate with Customers & sub-suppliers as necessary.
- Support & coordinate with different teams of Operations, Purchase, Sales, Quality & Testing during the complete cycle of the order execution. Manufacturing support, machine design, understanding of GD&T.
- Provide engineering support to the pump site commissioning team until successful operation of the equipment is supplied.
- Proactively engage & support company initiatives designed to promote a culture of safe working, environmental protection and continual improvement
Technical/Functional Skills:
- Experience in Centrifugal Pump engineering field, knowledge & interpretation of applicable industry standards (API-610, 682, 614, 671 ASME Pressure Vessel Code, ASME Standards, AGMA, NACE, etc.)
- Must have hands on experience with AutoCAD design software. Experience in NX, engineering base & Teamcenter will be an added advantage.
- Conversant with the use of the ERP tool, experience in JDE will be an added advantage.
- Independent and proactive with good communication & interpersonal skills.
- Managed and executed multiple tasks while taking direction from several sources.
- High sense of ownership, strong work ethic, focused on details and results oriented.
- Self-motivated and highly organized
- Excellent team player
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's in mechanical engineering
- 4-8 years of related engineering experience, including manufacturing, EPCs, and/or oil and gas industry
- Sound engineering judgment and decision-making skills
- Travel to domestic or international customer and supplier sites required on a limited basis. Includes kickoff meetings, design review meetings, and HAZOP meetings.
