About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Fund Accountant Manager to oversee our investment accounting operations in Bangalore. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of fund accountants, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of investment accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in a similar role. This position requires 12-14 years of experience in investment accounting, demonstrating a deep understanding of financial instruments and reporting standards. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our fund accounting processes, contributing to the overall success of the organization. The role demands a proactive individual capable of identifying and resolving complex accounting issues, implementing process improvements, and mentoring team members to achieve their full potential. You will collaborate closely with other departments, including portfolio management, operations, and compliance, to ensure seamless coordination and accurate financial reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of fund accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of investment accounting records, including portfolio valuations, transaction processing, and reconciliation of accounts
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and variances, and providing recommendations for improvement
- Collaborate with other departments, including portfolio management, operations, and compliance, to ensure seamless coordination and accurate financial reporting
- Manage the relationship with external auditors, providing support and documentation as needed
- Identify and resolve complex accounting issues, providing technical guidance to team members
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- 12-14 years of experience in investment accounting, with a strong understanding of financial instruments and reporting standards
- Proven experience in managing and mentoring a team of fund accountants
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
