Field Service Technician

Installation & Commissioning: Perform site inspection and readiness check prior to installation. Install UTM and related laboratory equipment as per standard procedures. Conduct equipment commissioning, calibration, and operational testing. Train customers on proper use and basic maintenance. Maintenance & Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults. Perform routine preventive maintenance and service calls. Replace damaged or worn-out parts using appropriate tools and spares. Calibration & Certification: Calibrate machines in compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM). Prepare and provide calibration and service certificates to customers. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service jobs, installations, and customer visits. Submit service reports, calibration logs, and feedback forms on time. Report recurring issues or design flaws to the technical team. Customer Support & Communication: Act as a technical point of contact for client issues. Communicate clearly and professionally with end-users and purchasing teams. Guide customers on post-installation best practices. Key Equipment Handled: Universal Testing Machines (UTMs) Impact Testers Compression & Flexural Testers Load Cells, Extensometers, and Grips Environmental Chambers Soil, Concrete, Asphalt Testing Machines Polymer Testing Machines (e.g., Melt Flow Index, HDT, VSP) Calibration tools and sensors Qualifications:Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering. Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience in field service of industrial or lab equipment. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, PLCs, electrical wiring, and calibration techniques. Skills Required:Technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical & mechanical drawings. Familiarity with testing standards (ASTM, ISO, BIS). Good communication and customer-handling skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Basic computer literacy (Excel, Word, Email, etc.).
