Engineering Manager Oil and Gas

Job Summary:

The Engineering Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering design projects within the oil and gas sector. This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams (e.g., process, mechanical, civil, piping, electrical, instrumentation) and ensuring that all designs comply with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate engineering design activities for oil and gas projects (FEED, EPC, Conceptual & Detailed Design).
• Review and approve engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, layouts, datasheets, and technical reports.
• Ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs aligned with project schedules and budgets.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure engineering requirements are met.
• Monitor team performance and ensure technical quality, consistency, and compliance with industry codes (API, ASME, ANSI, IEC, etc.).
• Support proposal development, estimation, and resource planning for new projects.
• Manage change requests and design modifications with controlled documentation and impact analysis.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing across disciplines.
• Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards in all design work.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or related discipline). Master’s degree is a plus.
• 18+ years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on medium to large-scale projects.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of oil and gas process design, plant layout, and engineering tools (AutoCAD, PDMS/E3D, SmartPlant, HYSYS, etc.).
• Familiarity with engineering codes and standards (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, NFPA).
• Project management skills, including schedule development, risk management, and budgeting.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients.
