Drone Hardware Engineer

Job Description

We’re looking for a Drone Hardware Engineer with a strong foundation in UAV systems and hands-on experience in building multirotor drones. You'll design, build, and integrate drone hardware, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and be directly involved in the development of swarm-capable aerial systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and test quadcopter/multi-rotor drone frames Select propulsion systems, ESCs, and power components Integrate sensors (GPS, IMU, cameras, LiDAR) and embedded systems Configure flight control firmware (PX4, ArduPilot) Conduct bench and flight tests; tune control systems Collaborate with autonomy and software teams for sensor and comms integration Document the entire hardware development and testing process Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master’s in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Robotics Strong knowledge of drone flight dynamics and control systems Experience assembling and flying custom drones Familiarity with PX4 or ArduPilot, and simulation tools (Gazebo, AirSim) Exposure to embedded systems, sensor integration, and electronics Ability to use CAD tools like SolidWorks/Fusion 360 Preferred Skills (Good to Have): Swarm robotics or inter-drone communication (UWB, Wi-Fi mesh, etc.) Power management, RF systems, or thermal design Computer vision integration for navigation and object tracking ROS, MAVLink, or real-time telemetry system knowledge Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month Schedule: Day shift Ability to commute/relocate: Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
