Job Purpose: To ensure backup and performance jobs are configured and running everyday successfully for all Prod and non-Prod database instances, perform time to time upgrade of database service packs and SQL Server versions for 800+ SQL instances; monitoring service availability, monitor and help Product/Project teams fix performance issues, ensure DR environments are in sync, carry out DR drills; be part of application upgrades as well. Monitor capacity utilisation and alert Teams. Would be available on rotational shifts 24/7. Key Responsibilities: • Application administrator will be responsible for the availability of various Application components and underlying environments. • Configure and harden environments in line with documentation provided. • Resolve issues/requests within SLAs • Monitor availability of enough disk space • Ensure various backups are in place • Ensure all scheduled jobs run successfully • The administrator should be able to work on multiple environments at the same time. • Analyse Log Files to find out the root cause of the problem to troubleshoot. • Managing Production changes through release process on DEV / TEST / PROD. • Provided support on 24/7 rotational shifts. Required Skills & Experience: • Understanding of the deployment process • Good understanding of RPOs and RTOs • Experience in analysing various error logs, troubleshoot issues • Perform RCAs, document issues, ensure CAPA is done. • Thorough understanding of SSL Certificates, Load Balancers, Web Application Firewalls • Understanding of API/ file/FTP based integration with third party systems • Thorough knowledge of SQL Server Database Instance • Good understanding of SQL Server Security features • Good SQL Server troubleshooting skills • Good knowledge of configuring SSIS, SSRS, deploying RDL files for the SSRS reports. • Good knowledge of Windows Server OS and components like IIS • Good interpersonal and written/oral communication skills • Good Knowledge in writing and analysing the PowerShell scripts. • Good problem-solving ability • Certification on SQL is an added advantage • Available for 24/7 rotational shifts • 8 to 12 years of Experience • Education Qualification: Any Engineering or MCA with good academic background.
