Data Modeling Engineer – Near Real-time Reporting

Role Overview

We are hiring a Data Modeling Engineer to build robust and optimized schemas that support near real-time data flows for operational and analytical purposes. You will focus on ensuring data models are built for agility, speed, and scale across Google Cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design models for systems with high-throughput, low-latency data access needs
  • Collaborate with data engineers to align modeling with streaming pipelines
  • Develop logical and physical models optimized for near real-time reporting
  • Support caching, indexing, and materialized views to enhance performance
  • Maintain data integrity, consistency, and schema quality during rapid changes

Must-Have Skills

  • Experience with data models supporting real-time or near real-time reporting systems
  • Hands-on with GCP platforms: BigQuery, CloudSQL, AlloyDB
  • Understanding of pub/sub, streaming ingestion frameworks, and event-driven design
  • Expertise in indexing strategies and schema changes in high-velocity environments

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to monitoring, alerting, and observability tools
  • Functional familiarity with financial reporting workflows

Soft Skills

  • Proactive and adaptable in fast-paced data environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication
