Job Title: Blasting InchargeLocation:Pan India (Multiple Cement Plant Sites) Department:Mining & Blasting Operations Reporting To:Head – Mining Operations / Plant Manager Purpose of the Role:The Blasting Incharge will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising blasting operations at cement industry sites across India. This role demands strong technical expertise, leadership, and strict adherence to safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate should have 5–10 years of relevant experience and certified competency in blasting operations. Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement safe and efficient blasting plans and procedures. Supervise and coordinate blasting operations across multiple cement plant sites. Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and safety regulations. Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety protocols during all blasting activities. Liaise with engineering, mining, and production teams to align blasting with operational needs. Manage procurement, inventory, and maintenance of explosives and blasting equipment. Train, mentor, and evaluate blasting crew on safe handling and operational efficiency. Analyze blasting performance using KPIs and initiate improvements to meet production goals. Prepare detailed reports on blast performance, safety incidents, and regulatory compliance. Implement cost-effective and environmentally sustainable blasting practices. Experience Required:5–10 years of hands-on experience in blasting operations within the cement or mining industry. Proven track record in leading blasting teams and managing multiple site operations. Educational Qualification:Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related technical field. Certifications Required:Valid Blaster's License in accordance with applicable regulations. First Class Mines Manager Certificate (under MMR) is mandatory. Technical Skills:Expertise in blasting techniques, pattern design, and explosive selection. Proficient in using blasting simulation and design software. Deep understanding of geotechnical considerations and rock fragmentation. Familiarity with blast vibration monitoring, analysis, and control. Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks for blasting in India. Behavioral Competencies:Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking. Commitment to safety, compliance, and environmental sustainability. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Non-Negotiable Skills:Proficiency in blasting operations and explosives handling. Leadership and team supervision experience in a high-risk environment. Mandatory Blaster’s License and 1st Class Mines Manager Certification.
