Senior Backend & DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities:

Backend Engineering:

• Own and scale the backend architecture (Node.js/Express or similar) for Mobile Apps
• Build robust, well-documented, and performant APIs
• Implement user management, session handling, usage tracking, and analytics
• Integrate 3rd-party services including OpenAI, Whisper, and other LLMs
• Optimize app-server communication and caching for global scale

DevOps & Infrastructure:

• Maintain and scale AWS/GCP infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront/CDN, etc)
• Set up CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) for smooth deployment
• Monitor performance, set up alerts, and handle autoscaling across regions
• Manage cost-effective global infra scaling and ensure low-latency access
• Handle security (IAM, secrets management, HTTPS, CORS policies, etc)

AI & Model Integration:

• Integrate LLMs like GPT-4, Mistral, Mixtral, and open-source models
• Support fine-tuning, inference pipelines, and embeddings
• Build offline inference support and manage transcription workflows (Whisper, etc)
• Set up and optimize vector DBs like Qdrant, Weaviate, Pinecone

Requirements:

• 4+ years of backend experience with Node.js, Python, or Go
• 2+ years of DevOps experience with AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, and CI/CD
• Experience deploying and managing AI/ML pipelines, especially LLMs and Whisper
• Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and offline inference
• Strong understanding of performance optimization, scalability, and observability
• Clear communication skills and a proactive mindset

Bonus Skills:

• Experience working on mobile-first apps (React Native backend knowledge is a plus)
• Familiarity with Firebase, Vercel, Railway, or similar platforms
• Knowledge of data privacy, GDPR, and offline sync strategies
• Past work on productivity, journaling, or health/fitness apps
• Experience self-hosting LLMs or optimizing AI pipelines on edge/cloud
