The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mainframe architectures, system-level programming, and the ability to design and optimize code for performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Assembler programs for critical system components and applications in a Mainframe environment.
- Write efficient, optimized code in Assembler language, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and hardware architectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and implement solutions.
- Perform system-level debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure the stability and performance of Assembler-based applications.
- Work closely with architects and senior developers to design and implement new features or enhancements in alignment with business objectives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including code comments, system diagrams, and user guides.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe Assembler programming.
- Proficiency in Assembler language, including coding, debugging, and optimizing code for performance.
- Strong understanding of Mainframe architectures, system-level programming, and related technologies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in debugging and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of other Mainframe languages like COBOL, JCL, or CICS.
- Familiarity with IBM mainframe environments and related tools.
- Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
- Certification in Mainframe Assembler programming or related fields.
