Store Keeper

The Store Keeper is responsible for maintaining the organization, inventory, and security of goods in a store or warehouse. This role includes receiving, storing, issuing, and recording supplies or equipment, ensuring accurate stock control and documentation. Key Responsibilities:Receiving & Inspection: Receive incoming materials, verify quantity and quality against invoices or purchase orders. Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report to relevant departments. Storage & Inventory Management: Store materials in designated locations for easy identification and retrieval. Maintain accurate inventory records using stock management systems or manual logs. Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies. Issuing & Dispatching: Issue items based on authorized requisitions. Prepare and package items for dispatch as needed. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records of all incoming and outgoing items. Prepare reports on stock levels, shortages, and surpluses. Ensure timely updates of stock registers and computerized inventory systems. Store Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the storage area. Ensure goods are stored safely and securely to avoid damage or loss. Compliance & Safety: Comply with company policies and procedures regarding stock handling and safety. Follow health and safety guidelines in storage and handling of materials. Qualifications & Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; diploma in storekeeping or inventory management is an asset. Proven experience as a storekeeper, warehouse clerk, or similar role. Familiarity with inventory software and systems (e.g., ERP, MS Excel). Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Ability to lift heavy items and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift) if required. Attention to detail and ability to work independently. Working Conditions:May involve standing, lifting, and moving items for extended periods. Often works in warehouse or stockroom environments.
