Solution Architect – SAP BW to S4 HANA

Experience: 10+ years of enterprise data architecture with deep SAP BW, S4 HANA.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect who can lead the modernization of our enterprise data landscape, replacing legacy SAP BW-based integrations with a modern Data Warehouse using S4 HANA / Snowflake. This role requires hands-on experience in SAP BW, S4 HANA, and Snowflake along with a strong understanding of enterprise integration, data migration, and roadmap planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a comprehensive walkthrough of all connected SAP and non-SAP applications, interfaces, and data flows.
• Assess the current SAP BW and HANA-based architecture to identify performance bottlenecks, redundancies, and limitations.
• Define a future-state architecture that supports integration with S/4HANA and a Snowflake-based Data Warehouse.
• Provide hands-on expertise in integrating BW systems with S/4HANA including data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Develop and recommend a remediation strategy for existing BW and HANA-based applications.
• Design and lead the migration of data from SAP BW/ECC to Snowflake, ensuring minimal business disruption.
• Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to define business requirements, SLAs, and KPIs for the new architecture.
• Establish data governance, security, and compliance guidelines for the new architecture.
• Serve as a technical advisor and thought leader, presenting solution blueprints and roadmaps to leadership.

Must-Have Skills:

• Hands-on experience with SAP BW, ECC, and S/4HANA (preferably including CDS views, extractors, and HANA modeling).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling (normalized, star, snowflake schemas).
• Deep experience with Snowflake architecture, performance optimization, and data ingestion from SAP.
• Proven ability to migrate historical data from SAP BW to modern data warehouses.Familiarity with data integration tools (e.g., SAP Data Services, Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, Informatica).
• Experience designing and implementing data pipelines (ETL/ELT) in hybrid cloud-SAP environments.
• Excellent understanding of enterprise data lifecycle, metadata management, and lineage.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Snowflake certification (Architect or Advanced)
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration projects (Greenfield or Brownfield)
• Knowledge of SAP SAC, Power BI, or Tableau for reporting and dashboarding
• Familiarity with SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT), BW/S4HANA
• Exposure to Data Mesh or Data Fabric concepts
