Social Media Executive (Sports)

About the Role:

Social Media Manager

You'll be responsible for driving social media strategy, live coverage, fan engagement, and digital campaigns across various platforms for sports teams, leagues, and events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop & execute platform-specific content strategies

  for Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), YouTube & more.
• Handle

  live matchday coverage

  , post-match content, and trending moments in real time.
• Collaborate with design and video teams to deliver scroll-stopping reels, graphics, and motion pieces.
• Engage with fans, monitor conversations, and

  build an active digital community

  .
• Work closely with players, managers, and ground staff for BTS content and exclusive coverage.
• Plan & schedule posts using social media tools (e.g. Later, Buffer, Meta Suite).
• Monitor performance metrics and generate weekly performance reports.
• Stay updated with sports trends, memes, formats, and fan behaviour to fuel content direction.

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of experience in managing

  sports or high-energy content brands

  on social media.
• Deep passion and understanding of sports — cricket, football, volleyball, etc.
• Excellent written and visual communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with

  Meta Business Suite, Canva, or other content planning tools

  .
• Strong understanding of platform algorithms, audience engagement, and community growth.
• Ability to work in high-pressure, real-time environments (matchdays, tournaments, etc).
• Must be based in Kolkata and open to on-ground execution and travel for shoots/matchdays.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with reels editing, meme creation, or managing verified sports pages.
• Prior work with sports franchises, leagues, or athlete brands.
• Familiarity with sports data platforms or analytics tools.
