Senior Manager - Urban Governance

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities Policy & Strategy: Create and apply city governance plans that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and government policies. Advise local and state governments on city finances, decentralization, and digital governance tools. Program Management Lead major urban projects like smart cities, waste management, and public transport. Ensure projects follow government rules (e.g., AMRUT, Smart Cities Mission) and donor requirements Working With Stakeholders Build partnerships with government departments, NGOs, and businesses. Support city staff by providing training and easy-to-use tools. Using Data In Governance Use technologies like GIS, IoT, and civic apps to track and improve city services. Guide evaluations and write reports, case studies, and other documents. Team And Budget Management Lead diverse teams and handle project budgets and funding proposals. Qualifications Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, Governance, or a related area. At least 12 years of work in city governance, including 5 years in a leadership role. Skills Deep understanding of local government reforms and citizen participation. Comfortable working with city data and tools like R, Python, or GIS. Strong project management skills (PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus). Fluent in English, Hindi and Marathi is highly desirable.
