This role involves coordinating the governance of a multiyear obsolescence remediation program across engineering teams. You will be responsible for ensuring the governance of one or multiple streams of obsolescence remediation programs across engineering, leading all aspects of the evolution of strategic and tactical remediation initiatives against the plan. Your role is crucial in ensuring technology sustainability, operational resilience, and compliance across the organization's infrastructure estate. Collaborating closely with architecture, platform, and delivery teams, you will work to ensure that technology components remain current, supported, and aligned with strategic roadmaps, driving proactive modernization and reducing technical debt. Engaging with CIOs, Program Directors, Engineering 1LOD, and 2LOD Risk teams will also be a key part of your responsibilities. The program is phased, with the first year focusing on executing the agreed scope while concurrently handling the definition of future scope through detailed data analysis and planning. This is a multiyear program that requires ongoing governance across the years. Your role will involve running one or multiple streams of the Multiyear obsolescence program in alignment with input provided by crucial maintenance and key critical initiatives. You will be responsible for the programmatic evolution of obsolescence remediation against committed plans for one or more divisions, working closely with CIO teams, program directors, and project managers in charge of executing the respective initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Obsolescence Management: - Identify and assess end-of-life (EOL) risks across hardware, OS, middleware, network, and platform components. - Design and implement remediation strategies for legacy and unsupported technologies. - Maintain and improve the obsolescence inventory and lifecycle roadmap in alignment with vendor support timelines and security standards. - Lead all aspects of data and reporting accuracy. - Report program status to senior partners. - Define future scope in alignment with the planning and budgeting process. - Drive estate standardization, consolidation, and optimization initiatives. - Support rationalization and decommissioning programs to reduce footprint and cost. Data & Reporting: - Generate insights and dashboards to track estate health, obsolescence posture, and remediation progress. - Contribute to capacity planning and asset lifecycle forecasting. Stakeholder Engagement: - Collaborate with product owners, platform teams, and vendor partners. - Influence technology decisions to support sustainability and reduce technical risk. What You'll Bring: - Strategy, Technology Governance, Data Analysis, Information Management, Risk management, and controls. - Proven experience in infrastructure engineering or architecture within a large-scale enterprise environment. - Good understanding of hardware, OS, virtualization, storage, and middleware platforms (e.g., Windows Server, RHEL, VMware, Oracle, SQL Server). - Hands-on experience with technology lifecycle management, obsolescence tracking, and remediation planning. - Familiarity with IT asset management (ITAM), CMDBs, and automation tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Ansible, SCCM). - Understanding of cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid integration strategies. - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. - Validated ability to influence and inspire change across multi-functional teams, with experience leading through ambiguity and handling customers in sophisticated, matrixed environments.
