Production Line Supervisor / Team Leader

Job Title: Production Line Supervisor / Team Leader Department: Manufacturing / Production Job Type: Full-Time Experience Level: 3–7 years Reports To: Production Manager / Operations Head Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Production Line Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations on the assembly line. This role involves ensuring team availability, optimizing line efficiency, driving quality improvements, reducing defects, and developing workforce capability through training initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills to ensure smooth and efficient production. Major Roles & Responsibilities:1. Efficiency Optimization Confirm team attendance at the beginning of each shift and ensure complete manpower availability. Proactively maintain and improve line efficiency with a goal of zero stoppages. Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance productivity. 2. Quality Control Improve and sustain Inline Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and Total Units Pass (TUP) metrics. Lead continuous improvement initiatives by actively involving shop floor employees. Analyze product defects and coordinate corrective actions to maintain high-quality standards. 3. Defect Management (OS&D)Track and maintain accurate records of all rejected items on the production line. Conduct root cause analyses of defects and implement action plans to reduce rejection rates. 4. Training and Skill Development Organize and conduct regular training programs to support multiskilling and ensure shift flexibility. Train new employees to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and defect-free processes. Promote a culture of learning and continuous skill enhancement among team members. Qualifications: Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering. Experience: 3+ years in a supervisory role in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Key Skills: Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S principles. Working knowledge of quality systems and production planning. Excellent leadership and team management abilities. Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail. Preferred Skills: Exposure to automotive or electronics assembly lines. Knowledge of production metrics and dashboard reporting.
