Position Title : Plant Head (Integrated Steel Plant)

Location: Jharkhand

Qualification : Diploma / B.E / B. Tech (Metallurgy/Mechanical/Production)

Experience: 25+ Years

The incumbent will be responsible to lead, plan, coordinate, and execute the greenfield project of an integrated iron and steel plant from concept to commissioning, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget, quality standards, regulatory compliance, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  1. Project Management:

  • Plan and execute brownfield/greenfield expansion and modernization projects across units.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, quality, safety, and resource planning.
  • Liaise with EPC contractors, consultants, OEMs, and internal stakeholders for timely delivery.
  • Implement effective project governance, review mechanisms, and risk mitigation plans.

Operations Leadership:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for plant operations across DRI, SMS, Rolling Mill & CPP.
  • Ensure smooth, efficient, and safe plant operations meeting productivity and quality targets.
  • Drive plant-wide operational excellence, cost control, energy efficiency, and process optimization.
  • Monitor KPIs for production, downtime, yield, OEE, and adherence to quality standards.

People & Team Development:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a competent team across operations, maintenance, safety, and support functions.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high-performance.
  • Ensure alignment of departmental goals with company vision through regular reviews and feedback.

Safety, Environment & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to all statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Promote and drive EHS culture across all units and ensure zero accident environment.
  • Liaise with government and regulatory bodies for permits, inspections, and audits.
  1. Financial & Resource Management:

  • Prepare and manage annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.
  • Optimize resource utilization including manpower, raw materials, utilities, and spares.
  • Drive initiatives for cost reduction, waste minimization, and process digitization.
  1. Cross-functional Coordination:

  • Coordinate closely with corporate functions like supply chain, HR, finance, and marketing.
  • Represent plant in leadership and strategic meetings and contribute to corporate planning.
  • Act as a key liaison between top management and plant teams for business continuity.
