Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in designing mechanical components and systems for power and distribution transformers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end mechanical design of transformer tanks, radiators, conservators, core clamping arrangements, and accessory fittings, ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as IEC, ANSI, and IS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical components of oil-immersed or dry-type transformers
• Prepare detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings of tanks, radiators, conservators, terminal boxes, lifting lugs, jacking pads, base channels, etc.
• Collaborate with electrical design teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical components.
• Perform stress analysis, structural integrity checks, and thermal simulations where applicable.
• Select appropriate materials, coatings, and hardware based on transformer application and environment.
• Ensure designs meet international standards (e.g., IEC 60076, ANSI, IS 2026) and customer specifications.
• Generate bills of materials (BOM) and support procurement and manufacturing teams.
• Participate in design reviews, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical support to the production, quality assurance, and service teams during fabrication and testing.
• Maintain design documentation and revision control through PLM/PDM systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E/B.Tech or equivalent).
• 3–7 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in transformer manufacturing.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or Siemens NX).
• Familiarity with GD&T, fabrication methods, and welding standards.
• Knowledge of industry standards: IEC, ANSI, IS, ASME, etc.
• Experience in FEA and thermal simulations (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, welding, painting, and machining.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Exposure to lean manufacturing and DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) principles.
• Knowledge of insulation systems and cooling methods used in transformers (ONAN, ONAF, etc.).

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
