Job Description – Robotic Maintenance Engineer (Assembly Line)
Position: Robotic Maintenance Engineer
Department: Maintenance – Assembly Line
Reporting To: Maintenance Manager
Key Responsibilities1. Preventive Maintenance Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on robotic assembly equipment.
Ensure equipment runs at optimal performance and extend equipment life through regular servicing.
2. Troubleshooting and Repairs Diagnose and repair faults in robotic systems, including PLC-based systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve communication issues between different PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley).
3. Vision System Maintenance Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot vision systems used for quality control in the assembly line.
Ensure continuous and accurate operation of inspection and verification systems.
4. Drive Systems Maintenance Maintain and troubleshoot Siemens Drives, SEW Drives, and other motion control systems.
Ensure stable operation to support continuous production.
5. Sensing Device Install, inspect, and repair sensing devices such as proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, and safety scanners.
Ensure sensors operate correctly for accurate process control and safety.
6. Electrical Hoists Maintenance Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical hoists, ensuring safe handling and operational efficiency.
7. Documentation Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, replacements, and calibrations.
Update logs for compliance, audits, and future reference.
8. Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety protocols and standards.
Proactively identify and rectify potential safety hazards related to robotics, drives, and electrical systems.
Participate in safety drills and risk assessments.
Key Skills & Competencies: Strong troubleshooting skills in PLC, Drives, and Automation systems.
Good understanding of vision systems and sensor technologies.
Familiarity with robotic assembly equipment (FANUC, KUKA, ABB preferred).
Proficiency in reading electrical and control schematics.
Strong focus on safety, preventive maintenance, and problem-solving.
Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines.
Qualification & Experience Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
3–8 years of hands-on experience in robotic maintenance within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
