We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Network System Programmer / Administrator to support and maintain enterprise mainframe network environments. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in VTAM, TCP/IP, JES2, and other networking components on z/OS. You will be responsible for installing, customizing, and maintaining the z/OS Communications Server and associated products while ensuring high availability and optimal network performance.

Key Responsibilities

Install, upgrade, and maintain z/OS communications server products including VTAM and TCP/IP.
Customize IBM and OEM networking products and features using SMP/E, REXX, and Assembler.
Monitor mainframe network systems proactively and take preventive measures to maintain performance and stability.
Improve network monitoring and increase automation where possible.
Maintain network configuration robustness and support disaster recovery (DR) from a network perspective.
Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance issues in a z/OS environment.
Assist end-users and teams with network-related incidents and problem analysis.
Provide day-to-day support for mainframe networking and associated subsystems.
Collaborate with clients, operations, and technical teams to develop robust plans and solutions.
Document all configurations, procedures, and support activities thoroughly.
Deliver technical recommendations and improvements aligned with business goals.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience in Mainframe Network Administration: VTAM, TCP/IP, JES2, HCD, WLM.
Proficiency in z/OS System Programming and SMP/E.
Working knowledge of REXX, Assembler, and JCL.
Proven experience in troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues on z/OS.
Familiarity with other z/OS components is a strong advantage.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
