Lead Data Engineer

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Salary range: Rs 4000000 - Rs 4500000 (ie INR 40-45 LPA)

Requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in data engineering
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience leading data engineering teams with full technical ownership
• Strong command over PostgreSQL and advanced SQL techniques
• Proficiency in Python for data-related workflows
• Solid understanding of data architecture, ELT pipeline design, and data engineering methodologies
• Familiarity with agile development practices and team collaboration
• Preferred experience with:
• dbt (data build tool)
• AWS data pipeline services (e.g., Glue, Redshift, S3)
• Data modeling and statistical analysis techniques
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of data engineers in delivering scalable and high-quality data solutions
• Oversee the planning and execution of data initiatives aligned with business and product strategies
• Architect, build, and maintain robust ELT pipelines to process and transform large datasets
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and availability across various platforms and systems
• Work closely with product managers, analysts, and other engineering teams to support data-driven decision making
• Design and manage scalable data models tailored for analytics and machine learning applications
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and inform modeling strategies
• Identify inefficiencies in data processes and lead automation or optimization efforts
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and bring innovative solutions to the team
