Journalist

Job Summary:

We are looking for a sharp, politically aware Tamil Journalist who can report, analyze, and interpret political developments in Tamil Nadu. The ideal candidate should not only have strong reporting and writing skills in Tamil but also possess working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to manage political data, conduct basic analysis, and support editorial decisions with facts and figures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report on political events, press meets, speeches, and election campaigns in Tamil Nadu.
• Write clear and accurate political news articles, summaries, and reports in Tamil.
• Track political trends, voter behavior, and party narratives using public datasets.
• Use Excel to organize data such as constituency information, poll results, booth-level data, or candidate profiles.
• Support editorial teams with research-based inputs, charts, and tables.
• Attend political rallies or media briefings and report in real time when required.
• Collaborate with social media and design teams to present data-backed political stories.

Preferred Skills:

• Deep understanding of Tamil Nadu’s political landscape, history, and parties.
• Excellent Tamil writing/editing skills and attention to political nuance.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
• Ability to fact-check and cross-reference multiple data sources.
• Comfortable with basic tools like Google Docs, Sheets, and email.
• Optional: familiarity with election commission data, political CRM tools, or media monitoring tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
