IT Technician

Responsibilities: Fiber Optic and FTTH Support o Assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic connections and FTTH infrastructure. o Support field teams during fiber deployment and customer installations. o Perform basic testing and fault isolation using optical tools such as OTDR and power meters. Networking Hardware Setup & Support o Install, configure, and troubleshoot networking devices such as routers, switches, and access points. o Assist in maintaining last-mile connectivity from the ISP to customer premises. o Support configuration of home and small office LAN/Wi-Fi networks. Customer Support and Troubleshooting o Provide first-line technical support for customer connectivity issues. o Perform on-site and remote diagnostics for basic internet and network-related complaints. o Guide customers through basic troubleshooting steps and escalate issues when needed. Computer and Hardware Maintenance o Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and related hardware. o Ensure proper functioning of LAN infrastructure at both office and client sites. o Support installation and maintenance of operating systems and basic software. Documentation and Reporting o Maintain records of service calls, network layouts, and installation checklists. o Report issues, updates, and solutions to senior network engineers or supervisors. o Follow standard procedures for network configuration and issue resolution. Required Skills & Experience: Experience in fiber optic network and FTTH support (basic level). Hands-on experience with routers, access points, switches, and customer-premise networking hardware. Basic understanding of LAN/WAN networking concepts. Ability to troubleshoot common computer hardware and network issues. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work in the field and assist customers on-site.
