Head - Polymer Purchase

Job Title: Head – Polymer Purchase Department: Procurement Location: Usmanpura, Ahmedabad, Gujarat Industry: Manufacturing / Plastics / Polymers Experience: 15–20 Years Job Purpose: To lead and manage the procurement of all polymer raw materials (e.g., PP, PE, PET, PVC, etc.) required for production operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely availability in alignment with business goals. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Procurement & Sourcing: Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for all types of polymers. Identify reliable suppliers (domestic & international) and negotiate long-term agreements. Monitor global polymer markets, trends, and pricing to optimize procurement timing and costs. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted supply and quality. Evaluate and audit suppliers regularly for performance, quality, and compliance. Cost Optimization: Drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or supply security. Analyze landed costs, logistics, and taxation to ensure best pricing and delivery. Inventory Management: Coordinate with production and inventory teams to maintain optimum stock levels. Implement demand forecasting and inventory planning systems. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and company policies during procurement. Oversee proper documentation, purchase orders, contracts, and vendor agreements. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the polymer purchase team. Drive performance KPIs and encourage cross-functional collaboration. Key Skills & Competencies: In-depth knowledge of polymer raw materials and their market behavior. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Analytical mindset with experience in cost modeling and risk analysis. Proficiency in SAP / ERP systems. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Qualifications: Graduate in Engineering / Science (preferably Polymer). MBA in Supply Chain / Materials Management (preferred).
