GM Recycling ( Precious Metal Recovery)

CLIENT: OM Contracting company actively servicing multiple sites,having a satisfied base of customers in Copper Zinc sites including Smelting Operations.

Role Purpose:

We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced metallurgical professional to spearhead and lead the technical development and execution of a Greenfield Recycling Project focused on recovering Vanadium and Molybdenum from spent catalysts and industrial residues. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in base metal recovery technologies, with hands-on experience in pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, and electrometallurgy, including roasting, leaching, solvent extraction, ion exchange, and calcination.

This is a business-critical leadership role responsible for end-to-end technical due diligence, process selection, technology evaluation, conceptualization, and early-stage implementation of the recycling plant, converting industrial waste into commercial opportunities.

Key Drivers

• Lead the Greenfield project for recovery of Vanadium and Molybdenum from spent catalysts and other industrial residues.

• Conduct technical due diligence of metallurgical technologies for waste recovery including:

1. Roasting (oxidative, reductive)

2. Leaching (acidic, alkaline)

3. Solvent extraction

4. Calcination and drying

• Evaluate and select suitable metallurgical technologies based on feasibility, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact.

• Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and mass balances for proposed flowsheets.

• Collaborate with global and Indian technology providers, EPC contractors, consultants, and environmental agencies for process integration and compliance.

• Provide inputs to engineering design, plant layout, and utilities requirement.

• Ensure adherence to sustainability standards and environmental regulations during technology design and implementation.

• Lead waste management strategy, aligning with circular economy principles and value recovery from industrial by-products.

Incumbent profile:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering with 15-20 years of relevant experience in non-ferrous metals / base metals / specialty metals.

• Proven expertise in pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical recovery techniques.

• Direct involvement in waste recycling, residue valorization, or spent catalyst recovery projects.

• Experience in technology selection, project design, and early-stage implementation for metallurgical projects.

• Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards in metallurgical operations.
