Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

Design and maintain RESTful APIs using
Node.js
Write efficient, well-structured SQL queries for
MySQL
Develop scalable services to support growing user activity and new features
Integrate third-party services like reCAPTCHA, email providers, etc.
Work closely with frontend developers to define API contracts and support smooth UX
Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and performance optimization

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in backend development
Strong proficiency in
Node.js
(NestJS or Express) and
MySQL
Experience with designing APIs, authentication, and session/cookie handling
Familiarity with Docker, nginx, and Linux-based deployments
Understanding of database indexing, optimization, and schema design
Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and deliver in a remote team setting

🛠️ Bonus: Experience with email queues, background jobs, and Stripe integration.

🌍 This is a fully remote position — we focus on results, not hours.
